Hyderabad, June 2, 2001: Distinguished speakers at the inaugural function of world's first ever multi-lingual e-Art Gallery, E-pages and E-Novel expressed a view that the portal Hamarashehar.com caters to the information needs of the cross section of the society.
Mr Justice P Ramakrishnam Raju, President of state consumer disputes redressal forum opined that the information available on the E-pages channel, launched on Saturday, is very much useful to the consumers. Justice Raju appreciated the effort of the portal for presenting comparative price tags of the products at various sales outlets in the twin cities.
In the current scenario, where the consumers were being duped with some misinformative advertisements, the portal is working to bring out detailed information about the products and after sales support, he added. Presence of such portals and channels will always be helpful. The portals effort can be graded to be with a sense of protecting the innocent consumers at large, Justice Raju applauded.
Mrs Chandana Khan, Tourism department Secretary speaking on the occasion said, the art and literature talent of Andhra Pradesh and the country were known internationally. The contents of the E-Art Gallery channel definitely were destined to carry on the traditional and cultural heritage to the generations to come.
The people at large, not only in the country but also on the globe, will accept a very unique endeavour taken up by Hamarashehar in presenting and updating this channel, she stated. The class of collection on to the channel reflects the taste of the promoters, the Tourism secretary has said.
Mr Narne Prabhakar, managing director of Tulaman Industries, proclaimed that with the advent and spread of information technology wide range of knowledge and reach are available. Marketing for any product or service has become inevitable which is being taken care by the new technological trends. IT is gradually changing the face of market, he said. He advised the portal to increase the information base.
Mrs Yashoda Reddy, eminent scholar addressing the gathering recalled the days before modernisation. She said that with the technology available now, life is becoming smoother and easier. In addition to the already presented art and painting information, she wished, all forms of fine arts and folk arts information should be added.
Mr K Shankar Rao, presenting his director's report explained how the brainchild of US based software top-notch Mr Prasad Bodepudi took off and presented the best possible information in its folds. The stupendous global success of the first ever interactive e-novel prompted the organisation to present successive and unique interactive e-novel, he detailed.
Mr Kondapalli Seshagiri Rao, renowned artists was felicitated on the occasion. Later Mr Justice Ramakrishnam Raju inaugurated the E-Art Gallery, while Mrs Yashoda Reddy and Mr Narne Prabhakar launched E-Novel and E-Pages respectively.
