Hyderabad, AP, July 26, 2000: HamaraShehar.com launched "How To... Guides" channel in both English and Telugu. This channel has guides on most commonly needed services such as land registration, building plan approval, ration card, gas connection, register marriage, telephone connection, drivers license, student bus pass, voter list registration, marriage and birth certificates, getting passport, etc.
Each guide describes step-by-step procedures along with the required documentation, fee details, related office addresses along with their timings and other rules and regulations. The actual forms themselves will be made available shortly. Hindi version of these guides will be made available when the Hindi version is launched in the next 2-3 weeks.
Earlier, there was no central place where people could share their experiences or know the answers to common questions on commonly needed services. First, they need to find out which office offers those services and go all the way there just to find out either that is not the right office or information is not available there or the concerned officer is on vacation. Similarly, there is no public exposure to the complaints and often complaints are made verbally and no proof of complaint exists.
Introduction of "How to..." channel addresses all those problems. Visitors can request for new guides and share their experiences with other citizens. In fact, they can get their questions answered and post complaints. HamaraShehar tries to get answers to visitor's questions and complaints from the respective officers. If the respected departments do not address complaints or answer questions from customers, they will be taken to the highest officers of those concerned departments and HamaraShehar does not hesitate to take issues all the way to the CM of the concerned state.
HamaraShehar plans to elevate customer service awareness in the service departments while customers know what exactly they need to do in order to get things up-front and also learn from other citizen experience. At the same time, all complaints are documented and every citizen can access them.
